Soccer Recap: Leland Comes Up Short

Leland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by exactly three goals.

Leland's loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1. As for Mt. Pleasant, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Leland will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Leland is facing Oak Grove at the right time seeing as Oak Grove is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Mt. Pleasant will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Lincoln on January 3, 2025.
