Soccer Recap: Pana Comes Up Short

If Pana was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 8-0 to the Greenville Comets on Tuesday. Pana haven't had much luck with Greenville recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Pana now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Greenville, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Pana will venture away from home to face off against Hillsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pana will be up against Hillsboro's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.75 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Greenville, they will be playing at home against Carlinville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenville's defense better be ready for this one: Carlinville have averaged an impressive 4.3 goals per game this season.
