Basketball Game Preview: Clifton Mustangs vs. Bloomfield Bengals

The Clifton Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Bloomfield Bengals at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Clifton came up short against Bergen Tech and fell 44-31. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield hadn't done well against Irvington recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Bloomfield came out on top against Irvington by a score of 53-44.

This is the second loss in a row for Clifton and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for Bloomfield, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Clifton was able to grind out a solid victory over Bloomfield in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 52-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clifton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
