Basketball Recap: Eddie Riebe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage Christian over Meir

Heritage Christian lost against Meir back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Heritage Christian Patriots fell 88-77 to Meir. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Meir are ranked 153rd).

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eddie Riebe, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 20 points. Chase Porter was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Heritage Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Meir, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Heritage Christian has already played their next game, a 56-41 victory against Kenosha Christian Life on the 23rd. As for Meir, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-72 win against Milwaukee School of Languages on the 22nd.
