Preview: Lewiston Bengals vs. Grangeville Bulldogs
The Lewiston Bengals will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Grangeville Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. on December 28th. Lewiston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Grangeville is ranked second).
Last Wednesday, Lewiston came up short against Timberlake and fell 50-38. Lewiston has struggled against Timberlake recently, as their game on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Grangeville's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sandpoint. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Thursday (56), Grangeville still had to take the loss.
Lewiston has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Grangeville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-1.
Lewiston didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Grangeville in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lewiston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
