Softball Recap: North Mac Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for North Mac's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gillespie Miners on Friday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Miners recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

North Mac's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16-1. As for Gillespie, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. North Mac will square off against rival Litchfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gillespie is set to challenge their familiar foe Staunton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Miners 3.5, the Bulldogs 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
