On Friday Northeast's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against Crofton. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Crofton, too.

Taylor Castle and Madison Burris did most of the damage at the plate: Castle scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Burris scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brynn Jones, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Northeast's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Crofton, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Northeast will host Severn Run at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Crofton, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Old Mill on Monday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.5 runs per game on average), something Crofton will no doubt try to take advantage of.
