Baseball Recap: Mills University Studies Comes Up Short

Mills University Studies lost against Watson Chapel back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mills University Studies Comets fell 8-5 to the Watson Chapel Wildcats.

Jackson Jarratt was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. Jarratt was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. He also put up two hits, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jackson Powers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. That run was his first of the season.

Mills University Studies' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Watson Chapel, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Mills University Studies will head out on the road to square off against Glen Rose at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glen Rose is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Watson Chapel, they will welcome Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warren's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Watson Chapel's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
