Basketball Game Preview: Desert Christian Academy Conquerors vs. St. Margaret's Tartans

The Desert Christian Academy Conquerors will square off against the St. Margaret's Tartans at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Desert Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully St. Margaret's likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Desert Christian Academy humbled San Jacinto Leadership Academy with a 79-45 victory. The Conquerors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Augustine Youssef, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. Youssef's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Herling, who went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points and six assists.

Desert Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Jacinto Leadership Academy only racked up nine assists.

Meanwhile, St. Margaret's ended up a good deal behind Laguna Beach on Thursday and lost 69-53.

Desert Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.8 points. As for St. Margaret's, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
