Recap: Loyola Cubs vs. Crespi Celts
The Loyola Cubs were the 51-48 winner over the Crespi Celts when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Loyola received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 54-39 to Crespi. While losing is never fun, Loyola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Crespi is ranked 25th).
Peyton White continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Crespi, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Malakai Perrantes, who scored seven points.
Loyola has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for Crespi, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loyola won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Beverly Hills at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. Beverly Hills will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Crespi, they will head out on the road to take on Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
