Football Recap: Lake Creek Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lake Creek can now relate to. They fell 35-24 to the Texas Tigers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Tigers are ranked 85th).

When it comes to explaining why Lake Creek lost, don't look at Zach Colwell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 167 yards and one score while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Lions are 2-1 when Colwell posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 3-5 otherwise.

Texas had a senior duo take command as Kameron Wrightner rushed for 37 yards and three TDs and Tradarian Ball gained 168 total yards.

Lake Creek now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Texas, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

As of now, neither Lake Creek nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
