            Baseball Recap: Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack vs. Dallas Mountaineers        
        
		
        
        
            Dallas hit Wilkes-Barre with a six-run sixth inning  on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolfpack took  a  9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountaineers. The Wolfpack were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mountaineers earlier this season, when they won  11-0.
  Alex Hufford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.  Jake Howe was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Wilkes-Barre and  nudges their season record down to 8-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-3 Hazleton Area (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65% over those games). As for Dallas, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record  this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilkes-Barre will host Wyoming Valley West  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Wolfpack are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for Dallas, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Hazleton Area  at 4:15  p.m. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so the Mountaineers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
