Basketball Preview: Manchester Red Hawks vs. Enfield Eagles

The Manchester Red Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Enfield Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Manchester has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 323 points over their last five matches.

In what's become a running theme this season, Manchester gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Avon with a sharp 59-33 win.

Tiara Tyson was her usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Tyson is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Elise Ryan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Even though Enfield has not done well against the Panthers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Enfield slipped by the Panthers 51-50. The win was all the more spectacular given Enfield's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Panthers are ranked tenth).

Manchester's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. As for Enfield, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Manchester came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 51-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manchester since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
