Softball Recap: Winn Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Winn's offense. They fell just short of the McCollum Cowboys by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mavericks in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost eight in a row.

Winn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaddis Avila, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Winn's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for McCollum, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

Coming up, Winn will be playing at home against Southwest at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for McCollum, they will head out to square off against Southwest Legacy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cowboys are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
