Soccer Game Preview: Mount Vernon vs. North Lamar

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mount Vernon duke it out with the North Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mount Vernon gave up the first goal last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pleasant Grove, sneaking past 2-1.

Meanwhile, North Lamar hadn't done well against Paris recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was North Lamar who was credited with the win. North Lamar got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Paris' one. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

The victory got North Lamar back to even at 4-4-2. As for Mount Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Mount Vernon might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from North Lamar when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Can Mount Vernon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
