Basketball Game Preview: Overhills Jaguars vs. South Central Falcons

The Overhills Jaguars will challenge the South Central Falcons at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Overhills' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Tuesday, Overhills didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lumberton, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win. Those 57 points were actually the fewest the Jaguars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Najiha Allen and Paris Autry were among the main playmakers for Overhills as the former dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards and the latter shot 64% from the field on her way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Autry's ninth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Frank, who posted nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 72-17 victory over Hertford County. The team accrued 60 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.

Overhills' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for South Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Overhills couldn't quite get it done against South Central in their previous meeting back in February as they fell 56-49. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
