Madonna had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees a 12-0 shutout. The Blue Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

Mathew Geer was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. David Connors was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Madonna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Madonna's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Clay-Battelle, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Madonna beat the Cee-Bees by a score of 10-0 on Monday.
