Baseball Recap: Grand Junction Central Comes Up Short

The Grand Junction Central Warriors came up short against the Coal Ridge Titans on Tuesday, falling 11-2. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Grand Junction Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyrus Kellerby, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Gavin Metli also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Grand Junction Central's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Coal Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season.

Grand Junction Central will head out on the road to take on Durango at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Demons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Coal Ridge, they will be playing at home against Aspen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
