Basketball Recap: P.K. Yonge Gets the Win

P.K. Yonge won the last time they faced Interlachen and things went their way on Friday too. The P.K. Yonge Blue Wave came out on top against the Interlachen Rams by a score of 62-52.

Interlachen lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kemontae Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Nixon is becoming a predictor of Interlachen's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 2-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Dante Astin was another key player, putting up six points and 12 rebounds.

P.K. Yonge's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Interlachen, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.

The future could be bright for both P.K. Yonge and Interlachen: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. P.K. Yonge will look to extend Eastside's ten-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Interlachen will try to hand Keystone Heights their 12th-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
