The Sage Creek Bobcats will challenge Mission Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sage Creek has three straight wins, Mission Vista has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Sage Creek nor Rancho Buena Vista made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Bobcats skirted past the Longhorns 2-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 8, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Kassidy King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lola Carson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mission Vista's offense. They came up short against La Costa Canyon on Tuesday, falling 10-0.
Mission Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Raphael, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. K Roderick also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Sage Creek's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mission Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Mission Vista's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sage Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Mission Vista, though, as they've only averaged .195. Will they be able to contain Sage Creek's hitters?
Sage Creek took their victory against Mission Vista when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-1 score. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mission Vista turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
