Basketball Recap: Family Christian Academy Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Family Christian Academy had lost six straight headed into Friday's game, but Julian Cabrera didn't let it get to seven. The Family Christian Academy Lions really took it to West Melbourne Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-34 win thanks in part to Cabrera, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 boards. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Jaysen Francois, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played.

Family Christian Academy's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9. As for West Melbourne Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Family Christian Academy will face off against Landmark Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Melbourne Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Calvary Chapel Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th.
