For the first time ever, Damari Carter turned in triple-digit receiving yards on Friday. He picked up 109 receiving yards and one touchdown as Varina fell to Grimsley 21-14. Our internal rating system judged Friday's performance as the best he's ever given (but hopefully not for long).

Carter and Varina will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hanover at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Blue Devils are a perfect 7-0 against the Hawks going back to October of 2016, a lead they'll look to extend.
