Phoenix Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost to the Carver Yellowjackets at home by a 89-75 margin. While losing is never fun, the Firebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 550th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 246th).

Carver's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremiah Glaspie, who went 15-for-22 on his way to 35 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. What's more, Glaspie also posted a 68% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kejuan Bruton, who dropped a triple-double with 16 points, 11 boards, and ten assists.

Phoenix Academy is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-19. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points over those games. As for Carver, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Phoenix Academy nor Carver have any future games scheduled.
