Basketball Game Preview: Power Center Academy Knights vs. Wooddale Cardinals

After both having extra time off, the Power Center Academy Knights and the Wooddale Cardinals will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Power Center Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Back in December of 2024, everything came up roses for Power Center Academy against Bluff City as the squad secured a 65-29 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 36 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wooddale took on Harding Academy two weeks ago. Wooddale might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Harding Academy an easy 60-34 victory. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Lions are ranked 91st).

This is the second loss in a row for Wooddale and nudges their season record down to 5-6. As for Power Center Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Power Center Academy against Wooddale in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 79-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Power Center Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
