Football Recap: Madison Highland Prep Comes Up Short

Madison Highland Prep extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They took a blow against the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans, falling 49-0. The Heat were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Will Ryken was his usual excellent self, rushing for 138 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries, while also throwing for 49 yards and one TD. He has become a key player for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Madison Highland Prep will challenge NFL Yet Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Heat will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they will take on Arizona Lutheran Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Coyotes will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
