Basketball Recap: IDEA Kyle Knights vs. IDEA Bluff Springs Bats
This season hasn't been kind to the IDEA Kyle Knights, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were the victim of a rough 37-13 loss at the hands of IDEA Bluff Springs on Friday. IDEA Kyle was down 34-11 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Leading IDEA Bluff Springs to victory were Samantha Saucedo-Palencia and Hope Saenz. Saucedo-Palencia scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Saenz scored 16 points along with five rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Saucedo-Palencia has scored at least a third of IDEA Bluff Springs' points.
IDEA Kyle's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.3 points per game. As for IDEA Bluff Springs, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
IDEA Kyle will head out on the road to square off against the Ravens at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayside: Sci-Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for IDEA Bluff Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. Valor South Austin is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
