Baseball Recap: Washington Has No Trouble Against North Pitt

Washington's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the North Pitt Panthers as they made off with a 13-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Pam Pack in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Jacob Spivey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Washington is undefeated when Spivey posts three or more hits, but 4-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Lane Brown was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jacob Council, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Washington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Washington back to even at 7-7. As for North Pitt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Washington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
