Centauri is 9-1 against Montezuma-Cortez since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. With a playoff game on the line, Centauri rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Titans 49-12 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 25-4.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centauri to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joselyn McCarroll, who scored 12 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie McCarroll, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Montezuma-Cortez put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Ignacio 38-17. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Montezuma-Cortez had established a 20 point advantage.
Centauri has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Montezuma-Cortez, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.
