Baseball Recap: Piedmont Takes a Loss

Piedmont fell victim to Bishop O'Dowd and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Dragons. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

Piedmont got a good showing from Jack Meyjes, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest hits Meyjes has allowed since back in April.

Piedmont's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Bishop O'Dowd, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13-1.

Coming up, Piedmont will welcome Encinal at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Highlanders 3.9, the Jets 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Bishop O'Dowd does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
