Basketball Game Preview: Northern Patriots vs. Great Mills Hornets

Northern hasn't had much luck against Great Mills recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Northern Patriots will challenge the Great Mills Hornets at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Northern came up short against Lackey and fell 60-48. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Great Mills was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 57-53 to St. Charles. The Hornets haven't had much luck with St. Charles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Northern's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Great Mills, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.

Northern came up short against Great Mills in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 53-49. Can Northern avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
