Preview: Black River Pirates vs. Buckeye Bucks
Black River is 0-6 against Buckeye since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Black River Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Buckeye Bucks at 12:30 p.m. Black River will be strutting in after a win while Buckeye will be coming in after a loss.
After only 23 points in their last game, Black River made sure to put some points up on the board against Brookside on Wednesday. Black River took down Brookside 61-45. The win was some much needed relief for Black River as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Buckeye's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-22 loss at the hands of North Olmsted. Buckeye was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-16.
Black River's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Buckeye, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-20.
Black River was dealt a bruising 60-22 loss at the hands of Buckeye in their previous matchup back in February of 2019. Can Black River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
