Basketball Recap: Nativity BVM Comes Up Short

Nativity BVM and High Point Baptist Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Nativity BVM had to settle for second. They fell 60-48 to the High Point Baptist Academy Eagles.

When it comes to explaining why Nativity BVM lost, don't look at Trey Keating. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten rebounds. Keating's big performance that evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Noah Dolbin was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

High Point Baptist Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Rogers out in front who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Rogers posted four blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nick Harris, who put up 16 points and seven boards.

Nativity BVM's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for High Point Baptist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Nativity BVM does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for High Point Baptist Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-48 defeat against The Christian Academy on the 11th.
