Basketball Recap: Doherty Spartans vs. Palmer Terrors        
        
		
            
 The Doherty Spartans entered their tilt with the Palmer Terrors with six consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with seven. Doherty enjoyed a cozy  71-56 win over the Terrors on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
 Leading Doherty to victory were  James Pulliam and  Elijah Mack.  Pulliam  dropped  a double-double on 24 points and 11  rebounds, while  Mack  almost  dropped  a double-double on 26 points and nine  rebounds. Pulliam continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Solomon Latimer, who  scored four points along with nine  rebounds and two  blocks.
 Several Terrors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Jackson Weber, who  scored 16 points along with five  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Walker Asp, who  scored 12 points along with seven  rebounds and two  blocks.
 Palmer  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only three  offensive rebounds. That's the fewest  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Doherty has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 12 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Palmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-3.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Doherty will  square off against the Lancers at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Spartans are ranked 25th). As for Palmer, they will head out on the road to  face off against  the Gladiators at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Widefield is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
