Soccer Game Preview: Northwest vs. Ross

Northwest is 0-6 against Ross since September of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Knights will face off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Northwest will be strutting in after a win while Ross will be coming in after a defeat.

Northwest barely beat Belmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights' defense stepped up to hand the Bison a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. That looming 5-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Northwest yet this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Ross was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bellbrook by a score of 1-0.

Northwest is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matches. As for Ross, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 14-2-1.

Northwest might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Ross in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
