Volleyball Recap: Scotts Valley Comes Up Short

Scotts Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Aptos Mariners. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mariners earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Scotts Valley took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-18, 18-16.

Scotts Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Aptos, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Scotts Valley and Aptos will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Falcons see the court they'll take on Soquel at 6:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Aptos, their break will end when they face Watsonville at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st.
