Neumann had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down the Monsignor Pace Spartans 61-46. For the Celtics, this counts as revenge for the 77-76 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2019.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teagan Jordan, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards. Lo'Toddric Capers was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.
Monsignor Pace is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Neumann will challenge LaBelle at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
