Recap: North Florida Christian Eagles vs. L.E.A.D. Academy Lions
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the North Florida Christian Eagles can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Lions on the road and fell 52-24. While losing is never fun, North Florida Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while L.E.A.D. Academy is ranked 237th).
L.E.A.D. Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamryn Lay out in front who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Lay has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Sophia Harold was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and five steals.
North Florida Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
North Florida Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. L.E.A.D. Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Munroe at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully L.E.A.D. Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
