Recap: Brock Eagles vs. Pilot Point Bearcats
The Brock Eagles came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 53.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 76-0 victory over Pilot Point. Brock might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five contests by 57 points or more this season.
Brock's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vance Guthrie, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Brody Woods, who threw for 77 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Brock's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.8 points per game. As for Pilot Point, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Brock will face off against Iowa Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Iowa Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 545th, while Brock is ranked 132nd). Pilot Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
