Softball Recap: Pinellas Park Comes Up Short

Pinellas Park came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Dunedin Falcons. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Pinellas Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Birge, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Pinellas Park has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Dunedin pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinellas Park will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northeast at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Dunedin also won't see the field for a while: their next contest is against Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. Dunedin's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Hudson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
