Holy Spirit (Absecon) won a New Jersey Non-Public Group 2 title Sunday in the name of Bill Walsh, a former player and coach in the program.

During the team's 38-0 win over St. Joseph (9-2) at Rutgers University, according to the The Press of Atlantic City,
the Spartans (8-4) played with extra passion and toughness just like Walsh played during his hey day. The 52-year-old died Nov. 15 from Lou Gehrig's disease.

E'lijah Gray, wearing Walsh's No. 16, rushed for 106 yards, Patrick Smith rushed for two touchdowns, Trevor Cohen passed for 136 yards and Elijah Steward caught six passes for 127 yard,

"It was like (Walsh) was in everyboyd's body," Gray told The Press. "All of us played like him — hard, tough, Holy Spirit football all around."

On Saturday, also at Rutgers, Andrew Butler accounted for all four touchdowns, lifting DePaul Catholic to 27-25 Non-Public Group 3 championship.

Butler threw touchdown passes of 9 yards to De'Mere White, 54 yards to Tedy Affuland 21 yards to Marshawn Ferguson, Jr., plus added a 1-yard TD sneak and DePaul finished the season at 7-5. Mater Dei finish 8-4.
