Volleyball Recap: Bridgeport Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Bridgeport had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Shadyside Tigers, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 16 in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-11, 25-8.

Shadyside had a senior duo take command as Ali Weatherson had 18 assists and five aces and Aubrey Nippert had nine kills, three digs, three aces, and one block. Another player making a difference was Sophie Boltz, who had four aces.

Bridgeport will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Clairsville at 6:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Shadyside, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bellaire on the 18th.
