Basketball Recap: Oberlin Comes Up Short

Oberlin lost against Columbia back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Phoenix were outmatched by the Raiders and fell 58-31.

Alyssa Goebel went supernova For Columbia., almost dropping a triple-double with 25 points, 12 boards, and nine steals. Goebel continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bernadette Beach, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Oberlin's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Columbia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oberlin will take on Black River in a holiday battle at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia and Clearview will compete for holiday cheer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders are facing the Clippers at the right time seeing as the Clippers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
