Volleyball Game Preview: Mauston Golden Eagles vs. Reedsburg Beavers

Mauston is 2-8 against Reedsburg since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will square off against the Beavers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mauston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Rhinelander by a score of 3-1.

Mauston was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 25-7.

Ellie Pouillie was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 15 assists and six digs. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Reedsburg not only won last Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 22, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Monona Grove with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Reedsburg walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-22.

Reedsburg's record is now 17-19. As for Mauston, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-11 record this season.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Mauston hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4 blocks per game. It's a different story for Reedsburg, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 blocks. Given Mauston's sizable advantage in that area, the Beavers will need to find a way to close that gap.
