Basketball Game Preview: San Diego Academy Cavaliers vs. Horizon Prep Lions

The San Diego Academy Cavaliers will take on the Horizon Prep Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

San Diego Academy hadn't beaten Escondido Adventist Academy on the road since December 8, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Cavaliers came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 45-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Diego Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Lindquist, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 11 points. Lindquist is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Story Avitia was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Horizon Prep against Julian on Thursday as the squad secured a 69-3 victory.

Horizon Prep has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for San Diego Academy, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.
