Basketball Game Preview: Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans vs. Navasota Rattlers

The Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Navasota Rattlers at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Coldspring-Oakhurst took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Shepherd by a score of 50-43. The win was all the more spectacular given the Trojans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 976th, while the Pirates are ranked 467th).

Meanwhile, Navasota made easy work of Columbia on Tuesday and carried off a 55-32 victory.

Navasota pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Coldspring-Oakhurst, their record now sits at 7-14.

Coldspring-Oakhurst beat Navasota 64-53 in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Will Coldspring-Oakhurst repeat their success, or does Navasota have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
