Softball Recap: Alamosa Beats George Washington for Their Third Straight Win + How To Watch

Alamosa entered their tilt with George Washington on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Patriots 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Mean Moose, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jazliin Garcia spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Taelynn Kreps-Smith was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Araceli Molina, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Alamosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Alamosa's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for George Washington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Alamosa will challenge Cheyenne Mountain at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for George Washington, they will face off against Sand Creek at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Scorpions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.4 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
