Baseball Game Preview: Hopkins Academy Golden Hawks vs. Ware Indians

The Hopkins Academy Golden Hawks will take on the Ware Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

McCann Tech hit Hopkins Academy with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Hawks fell 8-5 to the Hornets. The Golden Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Ware strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand South Hadley a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Ware got a great performance from Brady Guimond as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Guimond has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Owen McKeever was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Kaczuwka, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

Ware kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.

Ware pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 8.8 runs thus far. As for Hopkins Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
