Softball Recap: Coleman Comes Up Short

The Coleman Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat the Houghton Gremlins on Saturday and fell 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Coleman and nudges their season record down to 4-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Houghton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Coming up, Coleman will be playing at home against Crivitz at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Houghton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-8 defeat against Calumet on the 27th.
