Football Game Preview: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Northeast Jones Tigers + How To Watch

The Purvis Tornadoes will square off against the Northeast Jones Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Purvis' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Stone on Friday. They lost 26-0 to the Tomcats. The Tornadoes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northeast Jones, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let East Central get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Friday.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Bryson Dyess and Caleb McGruder. Dyess rushed for 52 yards and two scores while McGruder rushed for 51 yards on only six carries.

Northeast Jones didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dakiyan Rogers and Kooper Lightsey.

Northeast Jones' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.7 points on average over those games. As for Purvis, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Purvis took their victory against Northeast Jones in their previous matchup back in September of 2020 by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
