Football Recap: Hazleton Area Takes a Loss

Hazleton Area had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it nine. The contest between the Cougars and the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack didn't end well, with the Cougars falling 35-21. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolfpack apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Wilkes-Barre, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 points over those games.

Wilkes-Barre's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from JAYDEN PENA, who rushed for 53 yards and one score.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hazleton Area is set to take on their familiar foe Crestwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wilkes-Barre will face off against rival Pittston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
